Underwear, Underpants, Underpanties...

I've taken far too much time off from blogging! It feels hard to keep up with sometimes, so I'll just be sure and make each one count.

Although I love making handbags/purses/clothing, I've decided to delve into a whole new realm...

UNDERWEAR!! UNDERPANTS!! UNDERPANTIES!!

Here's why...

1. I love a pair of underwear that is really comfortable yet not necessarily cotton granny panties.
2. I've bought far too many pairs of undies that look beautiful on the hanger, say they're my size, then cut off the circulation to my brain when I put'em on. Not fun or exciting.
3. When I take my pants off and everyone screams, it's because of how awesome, gorgeous, stunning and flattering my pantaloons are!

I'm in research/trial and error phase right now, but will post pics as I start coming up with creations. How exciting! It's totally different than anything I've ever created before...

*right now I'm listening to the Detroit Cobras (check'em out, great girl garage rock) and I picture a fantastic pair of rock'n'roll panties...the gears are turning...*

I have spring fever!

This weather is making me dream of wearing dresses with no sleeves and heels with no stockings. Because of it I've been working on some spring/summer-friendly items. Here are my latest:

It's a brand new day!

So I did my first craft show ever and it was a total blast. The Handmaidens sure know how to get people into a VFW on the coldest day of the year! I made some sales and met some great people, and now I'm itching to do more!

Make sure and check back here for updates on shows I'll be doing.

I've been trying to think of fun new things I can screenprint (yes, I'm still addicted), and I think I came up with something cool that would be a culmination of my travel background and craftiness.

Stay tuned for travel inspired Articles!

My old grammar school is having a fundraising event, so I've decided to donate an item to their silent auction. Here it is:

Grow Tree

That's right, more screenprinting. I'm trying my hand at various designs for the Handmaiden's show in February...here's my latest creation:

I dig it...do you?

I got an order for two custom skirts...yay!...so will be posting as I make them. She picked some great material in super fun colors and patterns. There will be some pleating involved, so I'm excited to get started and see how they turn out.

More Screen Printing Fun!

I spent the weekend playing with my new screen printing materials. I made a couple projects based on the guitar picture (see below posts). Here's what I came up with.

I sewed this skirt, then screened the pic in silver:

It came out kind of faint, so I tried printing it onto a thermal shirt I had, but used more paint this time:

I'm pretty happy with it, and can't wait to make some more designs. I'm also excited to see how they are received at the craft show on 10 Feb. I think I might post them in my Etsy shop first, just to see what people think!

Screen Print First Run

So, after a first run I've decided that I'm addicted to screen printing. Great! Another hobby :)

Here's how the pic I drew (which is in my post below this one) came out on some orange cotton fabric:

What do you think? For a self taught first try, it turned out mucho better than I thought it would!

My SERGER and CRAFTSTRAVAGANZA!

I got a serger for Christmas, and it is my new favorite thing ever! It's amazing how much this thing can do...I've been playing with it for weeks now, and am still learning new stuff that it does. Here's a pic of the very first ARTICLE I made with it:

I also made a dress for a client and it turned out great. More fun serged creations to come.

I finally sent in my Craftstravaganza application! If I get accepted it will be my very first craft show ever, so I'm excited to see what their verdict is...they send out acceptances on 17 Jan, so stay tuned to see if ARTICLE made the cut!

In the meantime, shop handmade goods of all kinds at Etsy! You can view my shop at:

Top Stitched Bags!

I love these bags and all of the color combo possibilities. I got the idea to do this when my sister bought a thermal type long sleeved shirt and was going to put an iron-on on it, but didn't think that the texture would hold it very well. I told her that there may be a way to *spice* it up a little with some stitching, and that I would do some experimenting. I ended up making a bunch of different bags.

Her shirt is still hanging over the back of my chair, no stitching started :)
